We checked on the bees for the first time since putting them up on the roof. It's like of like where is waldo, but above you can see a few bees with pollen packed legs, so exciting. The other bees will kind of nibble that off and distribute it through the hive.
See that white dome in the middle of the frame? That is an indication that the bees are preparing to swarm (i.e. leave) because they feel too cramped in their space. It was called a swarm or queen cell. Chris destroyed it and then we added another box on top with new frames so they could spread out and make their honeycomb.
Apparently the brood pattern didn't look so great in the hives, but there's not much we can do about that except monitor it.
