Well coming down the home stretch over here as we wait for our new baby. It's that time again, the annual tree picture, but this year we have a new addition, a new apple tree. Since Harriet had the honey crisp and loves checking it and talking about it, we thought it only fair to get the new baby one too. Also they have the added benefit of cross pollinating each other even though this one is a Zestar. The honey crisp and the zestar at the parent plants of the sweetango, my favorite apple, but even with cross pollination we will never have a sweetango.
The zestar is so small that we won't have apples this year, but the honey crisp is teeming with apples. We are going to be eating a lot of apples this fall.
