Nerd Alert

Today I competed in the Winter Carnival puzzle competition with my coworker Leah, her sister and a friend at the Landmark Center. We all share a love of jigsaw puzzles. Seventy two teams gathered to complete a 500 piece puzzle as fast as possible for a prize that I am still unsure of. We had two hours to do it and the winning team finished in 45 mins. It took us the entire time to do it, but we slowed down considerably after the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams had won. The puzzle was a bit harder than we initially thought. I kind of feel like those people at the end of Antiques Roadshow who have been told they have nothing of worth and they all say the same thing– we had a fun time doing it!

We had to sign release forms because there were some videographers amongst us who were filming a documentary about jigsaw puzzles. Pretty sure we won't be in it, but I will obviously watch it!

Completed.

Hi Christina! We came across this post and had to laugh - we're actually the documentary filmmakers who were there shooting the contest! Believe it or not the film is almost done (we're editing right now). We shot at several other contests across the country (though the one at the Winter Carnival remains the focal point). We have a facebook page, if you'd like to check it out:

I see you competed the following year - did you in 2013 as well?
