Holy veggies!

Summer is winding down, but the garden just keeps on giving. Tons of tomatoes (cherry, heirloom and roma), lots of basil still to harvest, make into pesto and then freeze for winter meals. The carrots we planted from seed are finally ready. I don't want summer to end!

Although i guess technically tomatoes are fruits, not veggies.

Red carrot!

Fair Hills weekend

This past weekend we went up to Fair Hills resort where my family has gone through the years since the 1960s. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Harriet did really well on the car ride and was smothered with love by my family. It was just really nice for me since I haven't left our house for more than 3 hours at a time in 6 weeks. no joke... 'tis life with an infant. It was a wonderfully relaxing, restful weekend in a familiar place.

Harriet seems uninterested in this family photo.

Our family: women are enjoying bingo. Men are not.

Cousins Ben, Kailey, Jodi, Zach, Jacob and one unhappy baby.

Does something look a little off in this photo? one word: photoshop.

Steve took Harriet swimming for the first time. It didn't go well. The pool was a bit chilly. In the background Ben waves for the camera.

Combined age-- 90 yrs and 1 month

Yesterday we went and visited my grandma and introduced her to her first great grandchild. She has dementia so she understood it when we told her, but then quickly forgot. Even with my grandma's illness, she is still so sweet. She repeatedly would ask silly questions like: when did the baby get dropped off? Where does the baby stay? My grandma was VERY excited about Harriet and loved holding her.

The obligatory 4 generations photo.

First month visitors

We decided to continue what we did at the hospital, and take a photo of all of our friends and family that came over to visit. A few others have met Harriet out and about and we forgot to snap photos of our friends Oona and Ceallaigh when they stopped over. As always, you can click on the photos to enlarge them.

Baby friends

Above is our friends Erin and Aaron's daughter Lauren. She is 3 weeks to the day younger than Harriet. Pretty sure they will be the best of friends.

Don't worry this won't turn into a baby blog, I just haven't been able to do many projects lately, understandably.

My friend Becky's daughter Maddy and Harriet enjoy pointing in unison.

Our friends Steph and Chris' son Nick taken about 3 weeks ago.

Our friends Rob and Jen's little girl Casey. Staring contest.

We're a few weeks into using cloth diapers with Harriet. Right now we're using a service that provides several diaper covers, dozens of prefold diapers, a pail and a diaper bag. They pick of the dirty diapers each week and drop of clean ones. Christina's mom pre-paid for a 3 moth started membership. We found this great site called the Stork Warehouse that explains everything you'll need to know in one place. Come month four we're going to start using and washing our own. Most of which we have purchased and plan to purchase at the Lindan Hills Co-Op Natural Home Store. We might even utilize depending on pricing.
